AARON/MARIE at Under The Radar (INCOMING!) and other events

Hello there world—

We are here to happily announce that we will be perfoming AARON/MARIE, in a full version, for the first time, at The Public Theater's Under The Radar Festival 2015.  We are part of the INCOMING! portion, and will perform the show twice on Saturday January 10th, at 5:30pm and at 10pm.  Our performances specifically are at La Mama, which is a dream.

It will have a beginning, middle, and end.  A full arc.  The whole shebang.  Not a showing of pieces in progress.  Hurrah!

The line up for the rest of the festival and the rest of the INCOMING! portion is super exciting, you should look through all of it.

You can check out our page on the beautiful festival website here, and starting November 20th you can (and should soon) get your tickets.

In other news, come see us perform a set of Jerome's beautiful music piece "The River" at Littlefield in Brooklyn on Thursday evening November 20th at 8pm for 8 bucks (littlefieldnyc.com).  Our friends Scouts and sullivann (Catherine Brookman) will be playing beautiful sets also.

Then come see a new 10 minute snippet of AARON/MARIE on Monday December 8th at 8pm as part of Little Theatre at Dixon Place.

AARON/MARIE update!

Haven't updated this in over a year!

Right now composer Jerome Ellis and I are in the middle of making AARON/MARIE, our epic, multi-episode, sprawling electronic-music/storytelling show that we've been making for a year now.  It's co-directed by Annie Tippe and Rachel Chavkin, and designed by Joe Cantalupo.

In the interim, we performed parts 1, 2, and 3 (about 80 minutes total) at Ars Nova's ANT Fest in June 2013.

Then Under The Radar at the Public Theater invited us to perform parts 1-3 again somewhat revised at Joe's Pub as part of their INCOMING series, which we did in August 2013 and it was great!

Then I performed a new solo-episode from the AARON/MARIE universe at Little Theatre at Dixon Place in September.

Then Jerome then performed a different new solo-episode at Prelude Festival in October, and I skyped in from Madrid (where I'm living until this July) and we did a talkback led by the wonderful Caleb Hammons.

Incredible photos from the Joe's Pub show by Bailey Carr (BaileyDOTCOM.com) are here.  She also did the photo up top.

I'm living in Madrid for now but will move back to New York in July (in the meantime we are having some excellent dropbox-rehearsals), and then we'll be workshopping the full shebang in August and fall.  See you then friends.

New Work In Progress

Here's a video clip of Jerome Ellis and I performing a section of a new work in progress called AARON/MARIE.  It's the last 7 minutes of our performance at The Snowballs Festival on January 19th.  It was shot by Luke Abaffy.

This closes out a half hour section about a contemporary Iranian antique salesman in Long Island and a 12th-century Iranian astronomer/poet. Here they converse through saxophone in a television dream.
